A Dramatic Speech At A City Council Meeting Regarding Islam

No religious law belongs above the U.S. Constitution.

I addressed the Irvine City Council to challenge Sharia law and its compatibility with American freedom. As an Iranian American whose parents came from Iran, I spoke out about religious coercion, women's rights, child marriage, and the treatment of non-Muslims under Islamic law.

Freedom includes the right to question religion — and the right to reject it.
